History of PFG Insurance
PFG Insurance began as Perry Financial Group in 1979. The name was changed to PFG Insurance in 2003 to help clarify our area of expertise. The office was originally located in Murray. In 2003 we relocated to Draper following an extensive restoration and preservation project on a home built in 1929.
The home was scheduled for demolition to make way for the new Draper City Hall. Due to Rob’s desire to preserve the past, he was successful in coordinating efforts to have the home relocated. We feel this project adequately reflects our desire to provide, protect, and preserve both the past and the future. During most of the 20th century, poultry was the single most important economic force in Draper. Nearly one third of the workforce was associated with the poultry industry between 1930 and 1950. Joseph Mickelsen was the secretary, treasurer and manager of the Draper Egg Producers Association, Inc and served that association for 40 years. The home that Joseph and his wife Mina built was a significant landmark in the community. The house is listed on the Utah Historical Registry. More importantly, the house fits into Rob’s dream of being able to preserve a small piece of Draper History. Providing a home for the office was secondary to the desire to preserve and protect this small piece of Draper history. Please feel free to drop by for a quick tour and more details to what makes this home a real treasure.
